Data this site collects
Analytics, only with consent
If you click Accept on the cookie notice, Google Analytics 4 records anonymised usage: pages viewed, approximate region, device type, and how you arrived. Your IP address is anonymised. If you decline, or ignore the notice, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is tracked.
Server logs
The hosting provider keeps standard access logs, including IP address and browser type, for security and troubleshooting. These are generated automatically by the server and are kept only for a short period.
What you send me
If you message me on WhatsApp, email me, or book a call, I receive whatever you choose to share. I use it only to reply and to discuss your project.
What is never collected
No accounts, no passwords, no payment details, and no advertising or cross-site tracking. Your IP address is never stored: the forms keep only a one-way scrambled version of it, which is enough to stop spam and cannot be turned back into an address.
The project enquiry form
If you fill in the form on the Start a project page, I store what you type: your name, email, company if you give it, your description of the work, and the budget range and timing you pick. I use it to reply to you and to decide whether I can help. It is kept for up to 24 months and then deleted, or sooner if you ask.
Email updates from the blog
If you subscribe, I store your email address and the date you confirmed. Nothing is sent until you click the link in the confirmation email, so nobody can sign you up without you knowing. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 7 days.
Cookies in use
Two kinds, and that is all:
- Consent cookie: a small cookie named dc_consent remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so you are not asked on every visit. It lasts one year and contains only yes or no.
- Google Analytics cookies: set only after you accept. They measure visits in aggregate. Declining means they are never loaded at all.
To change your choice, clear this site's cookies in your browser and the notice will appear again.
Services this site relies on
- GreenGeeks hosts the website and processes standard server logs.
- Google Analytics provides usage statistics, loaded only after consent.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used across the site.
- Calendly handles call bookings if you choose to book a time. Their own privacy terms apply on their site.
- An email delivery service (Resend or Brevo) carries the messages this site sends: subscription confirmations, blog updates, and the copy of your enquiry that reaches me. It processes your email address only to deliver those messages.
- WhatsApp carries messages if you choose to message me. Meta's terms apply to that conversation.
I do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, and there are no advertising networks on this site.
Data in projects I build
This policy covers this website. When I build a system for your business, your business data is handled under a separate agreement with you. My standard approach: systems run on your own infrastructure or your own cloud accounts wherever possible, your data is not used to train public AI models, and I keep access only for as long as the work requires.
What you can ask for
You can ask me what data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. That includes anything you sent through the enquiry form and your place on the email list. I handle enquiries because you asked me to respond, and I send email updates only on the consent you gave by confirming. You can withdraw that at any time with the unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw analytics consent by clearing this site's cookies. Email deep@deepconnects.com and I will respond within a reasonable time. These rights apply under the data protection laws that apply to this site, including the GDPR if you are in the UK or the EU.
