In a clinic, automation has to earn trust before it saves time. At Arham Clinic, vaccine reminders used to live in a paper register, and staff called or messaged parents by hand when the front desk had a moment. Once the reminders ran on their own, the sign that it was working was parents arriving on time without being chased, and some of them replied to thank the clinic.
There are also things I will never automate in a clinic. No automated medical advice or answers about symptoms: those always go to a doctor or nurse. Emergencies trigger a person immediately, and the bot never tries to handle them. These posts are about building that line in from the start, for reminders, follow-up calls and patient messages.
